Artist’s Statement

I am drawn to the connection between dancing women, bold colours, and the cacophony of human emotions. The dancing woman, with her fluidity and grace, becomes a vessel for emotions. Through the language of dance, she channels the raw and unfiltered expressions of joy, sorrow, love, and everything in between. I aim to capture these emotions, not merely as static entities, but as vibrant and dynamic forces that resonate within us.

Red, the colour of romance and vitality, symbolizes the power within the dancer. It represents the energy that surges through her body, fueling every movement and igniting the stage. Blue, on the other hand, embodies the serenity and tranquillity found in the fluidity of dance. It evokes a sense of calmness and introspection, capturing the moments of grace and poise. Lastly, yellow, the colour of joy and exuberance, portrays the contagious enthusiasm radiating from the dancer, infecting the audience with its fervour.

The interplay of movement, colour, and emotions becomes a visual symphony. Bold colours and shapes mimic the rhythm of the dance, while the vibrant hues echo the intensity of the emotions being conveyed. However, my intention is not to dictate a specific emotional response, but rather to ignite a dialogue between the viewer and the artwork. I encourage viewers to interpret and engage with their own emotional landscape, finding personal connections and resonances within the dance and primary colours presented before them.
